Love, perhaps, begins with a meal.
Through the steam, two men edge a little closer.
Two gentle short stories, each beginning with a simple “this is good, isn’t it?”

“Half-Price Deli Food”
Work has kept him busy for years, and somehow he’s the one eating alone.
Then a lunch break side by side on an office stairwell brings a small change.
Grown-ups who never quite grew up, and a love that is only just beginning.

“Nagoya-Style Miso-nikomi Udon”
Old friends who somehow never drift apart.

One clay pot, a little bickering, and “You really have no idea, do you?” And still neither of them leaves. A slow, unhurried romance on a quiet evening.

By the last page, you may find yourself wanting to share a meal with someone.
(This includes both Japanese and English versions.)
